The International Journal of Social Work Values and Ethics, which is published by IFSW, is delighted to introduce this special issue on the topic of Social Work Values and Ethics in Intercultural Relations. The aim of this issue is to highlight the role of social work values and ethics in relation to dimensions of global diversity and professional practice across international communities. The diverse range of articles included in this issue come from educators and practitioners across the globe and cover multiple topics including decolonization, oppression, and ethical social work practice and values in response to cross-national experiences.

About the Editors:

Veronica Hardy, Ph.D., LCSW

Veronica Hardy received degrees from Kutztown University (BA), West Chester University (MSW) and Regent University (Ph.D. – Counselor Education and Supervision). She serves on the Policy Advisory Board and Board of Copy Editors for The International Journal of Social Work Values and Ethics. Dr. Hardy holds tenured professor status within the College of Health Sciences at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, is an adjunct faculty member within The School of Education and Human Development at St. Joseph’s University and has over 25 years of social work practice experience. Dr. Hardy has served as Editor for this special issue titled, Social Work Values and Ethics in Intercultural Relations.

Alison MacDonald, Ph.D.

Alison MacDonald received degrees from the University of Calgary (BSW, PhD) and Carleton University (MSW). She serves on the Policy Advisory Board, Manuscript Review Board, and Board of Copy Editors for the The International Journal of Social Work Values and Ethics.  Prior to retiring, she worked in social work research and administration, including 15 years in professional regulation. She also taught social work ethics to students in both undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as social workers in the field. Dr. MacDonald served as co-Editor for this special issue, titled Social Work Values and Ethics in Intercultural Relations.
