Review Criteria 6: If the manuscript includes a replication of prior research, assess it

BACK: Criteria 5 < Criteria 6 > NEXT: Criteria 7

When a manuscript identifies replication of previous research, it is recommended the reviewer engage in a process to access the identified prior research upon which the article is based. Compare the aspects of the prior research including research question(s) and hypothesis(es), sample size, criteria, and demographics; data collection and analysis procedures, as well as limitations and findings. Then, compare the outcomes of the prior research to that noted in the manuscript.

Assess similarities, differences, new knowledge developed, if any; and how the current study has built upon the previous research.
